NEIL YOUNG ALLOWS SEN. BERNIE SANDERS EXCLUSIVE USE OF ‘ROCKIN’ IN THE FREE WORLD’
Neil Young did one better than just publicly condemning billionaire GOP Presidential hopeful Donald Trump from using one of his songs — he donated the tune’s use to Young’s democratic pick, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Noise 11 posted that although Trump’s staff claims they had obtained clearance for the use of Young’s 1989 classic “Rockin’ In The Free World” from copyright administrators ASCAP and BMI, Young, a Canadian citizen, blasted the use of the tune by Trump and came out publicly supporting Sanders. As it stands now Bernie Sanders is the only Presidential candidate supported by Young and allowed to freely use the song at his rallies and appearances. Sanders used his June 20th rally in Vermont to debut his new — fully approved — campaign theme.
