CUYLER, NY (607NewsNow) – The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office has issued a community notice.

On July 15, deputies responded to a home on East Keeney Road in the Town of Cuyler after receiving a tip about an ongoing case from Onondaga County.

While initially trying to locate and speak with the resident, a single gunshot was heard. After a thorough search of the residence and surrounding property, which included foot patrols, a drone, and an Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, it could not be determined where the shot came from or where it was directed.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says there are no pending charges at this time and doesn’t believe a threat to the community exists.
