Vote: Seneca Falls a finalist for USA Todays’ 10 Best Historic Small Towns list

SENECA FALLS, NY (607 News Now) – Seneca Falls is receiving national recognition.

The birthplace of the women’s suffrage movement is among 20 nominees for USA Today’s 10 Best Historic Small Towns list.

In 1848, Seneca Falls hosted the first Women’s Rights Convention, organized by Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. It is now home to the Women’s Rights National Historical Park Museum.

Other towns under consideration include Yorktown, Virginia, considered to be the site where the Revolutionary War was won, and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where the bloodiest battle of the Civil War was fought.

Online voting is open through 12 p.m. on March 30, and winners will be announced on April 8.
