LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) – No injuries after a tractor-trailer fire in Lansing.

On October 9, members of the Lansing Fire Department responded to the intersection of VanOstrand and Buck Road to find a truck engulfed in heavy flames and black smoke.

The driver had gotten out safely before authorities arrived. The Groton Fire Department assisted at the scene, and crews from both departments prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby field, tree, and home.

The truck was a total loss, and the NYS DEC was called in to handle the fuel spill. The intersection was closed for several hours.
