ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Ithaca is getting support for youth recreation.
Over $158,000 is headed to the town through New York State’s Places for Learning and Youth Socialization (PLAY) grant program.
The money will be used to construct a new ADA accessible playground, parking lot, and walkway at Vincenzo Iacovelli Park, which is located near the South Hill Recreation Way trail.
Elsewhere in the Southern Tier, the Village of Montour Falls is getting $600,000 to construct an ADA playground and ADA-compliant restrooms at the Village Marina. The City of Elmira is getting $170,000 for a new playground at Cypress Street Park. The Village of Owego and Town of Binghamton are getting $264,012, and $383,759, respectively, to replace outdated equipment.
