SUNY Cortland men’s soccer suffers first loss

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — The SUNY Cortland men’s soccer team is no longer undefeated.

After starting the season on a four-game win streak, the Red Dragons lost to the St. Lawrence Saints 2-1 on Wednesday. St. Lawrence sophomore Sammy Bothwell scored two goals for the visitors.

The Red Dragons had more corner kicks and shots than the Saints, but St. Lawrence goalkeeper Zach Amato stood tall with seven saves.

Cortland will look to bounce back on Saturday against Scranton. The game begins at 1 p.m. at Holloway Field in Cortland.
