CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – State Police seek assistance with a Cortland County theft investigation.

On September 10, State Police say a woman stole nearly $500 worth of merchandise from the Cortlandville Walmart.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m., when the woman allegedly attempted to exit the business without paying. She initially reentered the store after being stopped by Walmart security but left after learning police had been called.

Witnesses claim the suspect entered and exited a Centro bus, ran and hid behind a nearby business, and then left the area.
