Police ID victims in fatal Groton house fire

GROTON, NY (607NewsNow) – The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is releasing more information about a fatal house fire in Groton.

The victims have been identified as 77-year-old Robert Morusty and 48-year-old Jason Morusty.

On April 10, police and firefighters were called to Valley View Mobile Home Park around 12:30 a.m. for a structure fire. One of the victims was extricated through a window but ultimately passed away.

Sheriff Derek Osborne says the cause has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
