One dead in Cayuga County motor vehicle accident

UPDATE 10/1 – The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 94-year-old Elizabeth MacCormick. The dump truck operator is cooperating in the investigation, which is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at (315) 253-1222. 

VENICE, NY (607NewsNow) – One person is dead after a crash in Cayuga County.

On September 30, authorities say a car collided with a dump truck in Venice at Route 34B and Poplar Ridge Road around 2:20 p.m.

According to FingerLakes1.com, a medevac was requested but later canceled.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and the accident remains under investigation.
