NEWFIELD, NY (607NewsNow) — Newfield is opening bids for septic service.

Officials say 30 commercial properties in the town’s sewer district have their septic tanks pumped each year. The same work is done every other year for 130 residential properties.

“All work must be coordinated with the Water/Sewer Systems Supervisor, and a report provided documenting completion of the work for each property within the sewer district.  The successful bidder will expose, pump, and cover commercial and residential tanks and haul approximately 230,000 gallons of septic waste, both solids and wastewater during the months of June, July and August of 2026.  Commercial properties, amounting to approximately 100,000 gallons of septic waste would be collected and hauled during June, July, and August of 2027,” according to a post on the town’s website.
