MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) — Donations are being accepted for a service this weekend in Marathon.
The Marathon Fire Department Auxiliary says donations of any size will cover costs for Captain Tim Brown’s service on Saturday.
“Any contribution, big or small, would mean so much to his family and to all of us who are part of the fire service family,” according to a Facebook post. “Our firefighters are always there when our community needs them. Now, it’s our turn to be there for one of our own.”
Brown died earlier this month at the age of 43. Services are being held Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Marathon Memorial Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by lunch at 1279 Turner Hill Rd.
