Ithaca man charged after allegedly pulling knife on officers

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An Ithaca man is accused of pulling a knife on police.

On August 18, the Ithaca Police Department was called to the area near 245 Cherry Street around 1:20 p.m. for a report that a man was setting up an unsanctioned campsite.

When IPD arrived, they recognized the suspect as Christopher Brown, who was facing charges in an unrelated incident that occurred on Tuesday.

When they attempted to arrest Brown, he allegedly displayed a knife and threatened them. Officers used less lethal force to subdue Brown and take him into custody.

Brown is charged with menacing a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, and two misdemeanors, including resisting arrest and criminal trespass.
