Investigation underway after body discovered near railroad crossing in Cortlandville

UPDATE: State Police say the individual is a middle-aged woman. Her identity remains unknown. 

CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – A death investigation is underway in Cortlandville.

On November 25, State Police were called to Route 281 around 9 a.m. for a report of a deceased individual by a railroad crossing near Pall Trinity.

A passerby located the body and called 911. Troopers have not released any identifying information but are working to ID the individual and the cause of death.
