ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Talks about a new contract resume soon between the Ithaca City School District and Ithaca Teachers Association.

On the Sept. 23 edition of Ithaca’s Morning News, ITA President Kathryn Cernera explained one of the union’s priorities.

That gives teachers a chart of what their salaries should be based on years of service and accomplishments.

Cernera also cited family leave and insurance as other priorities for the hundreds of ITA members, who are currently working under terms of an expired contract. Both sides return to the bargaining table on Oct. 9 and are scheduled to meet regularly until Thanksgiving.
