OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – The third person charged with the abduction and killing of Ithaca man Thomas Rath in 2023 has been sentenced.

On April 27, Jonathan Glennon was given 25 years to life each on charges of second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping, according to the Owego Pennysaver.

The indeterminate terms will be served concurrently. Glennon, who was the only defendant found guilty of second-degree murder instead of first-degree, was found guilty in February. It follows the sentencing of Joseph Howell of Newfield and Angelo Baez of Ithaca in 2025. Howell and Baez are serving terms of 31 years and 25 years to life, respectively.

The three men are part of a group of 13 people originally charged in connection with the crime. Some were offered plea agreements in exchange for testimony, including Robert Hines, who testified that he helped drive Rath’s body to a shallow grave on Ekroos Road in Candor.

Hines has since violated his cooperation agreement and will now face a first-degree kidnapping charge at a later date.
