LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — In the midst of financial hardships to keep their space open in the Shops at Ithaca Mall, Family Reading Partnership (FRP) is launching a public campaign to raise the money needed to stay.

In a recent newsletter, Family Reading Partnership Executive Director Amber Smith says, “Despite its challenges, this location achieves so much more than is possible anywhere else, and our community has been adamant that they do not want us to give up on it so easily. The cost at the mall is significantly lower than any other available commercial space, and the accessibility is unmatched. Your generosity has kept the lights on until now, but we need a significant influx of cash to replace our HVAC system and stabilize the bank account while we identify new funding opportunities.”

Today, Wednesday, February 4th, all purchases made at Monks on the Commons from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. will go toward funding FRP with 50% of the proceeds going directly to the organization.

Additionally, mystery children’s book packages will be for sale at FRP’s family play space, The Nook, from February 8th to 15th to celebrate International Book Giving Day on February 14th.
