Ex-Freeville fire chief dies at 78

FREEVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — A third generation Freeville firefighter has died. 

Edgar Parker joined the Freeville Fire Department in 1970 and served as chief from 1974 to 1977. He was one of Freeville’s first EMTs after forming the Freeville Rescue Squad. Calling hours for Parker, who was 78, will be held Sunday from two to four at Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden. 

Parker passed away on Oct. 6.
