BATH, NY (607NewsNow) – An accused bank robber has been indicted in Steuben County.

On September 17, 27-year-old Dominick Bova, of Corning, was formally charged with 11 felonies and 3 misdemeanors related to an August 22 bank robbery in Addison.

Bova is accused of robbing First Heritage Federal Credit Union at gunpoint, allegedly taking $4,000. Bova was arrested on September 5 and remains in Steuben County Jail.

District Attorney Brooks Baker lauded the work by local law enforcement

“Bank robberies don’t happen in Steuben County, and we don’t want them to,” said Baker. “Lieutenant Kennedy and Investigator Martin worked non-stop from the time of this crime to the day of arrest, coordinating the assistance from other agencies and members of the community to develop the evidence necessary for the arrest and indictment in a very timely fashion. They left no stone unturned and built a solid case – one that took a dangerous public safety threat off the streets and kept someone with connections outside of New York and the U.S. from being able to flee justice.”

List of Charges

  • Robbery, First Degree (2 counts, felony)
  • Robbery, Second Degree (2 counts, felony)
  • Grand Larceny (felony)
  • Coercion (felony)
  • Intimidating a Witness (felony)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (3 counts, felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon (felony)
  • Menacing (misdemeanor, 3 counts)

Baker added Bova will appear in Steuben County Court “in the near future.”
