ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — There’s no longer a quarterback competition on the Big Red football team.

Cornell Head Coach Dan Swanstrom has named junior Devin Page the starting quarterback. Page will lead the offense on Saturday at Yale.

Prior to last weekend’s game against UAlbany, there was a quarterback competition between Page and junior Garrett “Bito” Bass-Sulpizio. Cornell lost the matchup 13-10, but Page threw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

During the Tompkins County Football Luncheon on Thursday, Swanstrom said Page has been getting “70 to 75 percent” of the reps during practice this week. Swanstrom said the team has practiced “so well” over the past few days.
