ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Cornell Head Football Coach Dan Swanstrom is noncommittal on who the starting quarterback will be this season.
Cornell begins the 2025 campaign at UAlbany on Saturday at 7 p.m. Entering the game, there’s a quarterback competition between junior Devin Page and junior Garrett “Bito” Bass-Sulpizio.
“They both have performed at a very high level,” Swanstrom said during the Tompkins County Football Luncheon on Thursday. “They’ve made this very, very hard on me.”

On the field on Saturday, Swanstrom will approach the competition like a game of half-court basketball.
“We’ll play make-it-take-it,” he said. “If someone goes down and scores, they’ll stay in the game.”
Last season, quarterback Jameson Wang started all 10 games for the Big Red. Wang graduated in Dec. 2024 and currently plays for the Frankfurt Galaxy in the European League of Football.
