Broad Street to close Saturday in Waverly for gameday parade, VFW bike night

WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) – Part of a major village roadway in Tioga County will shut down tomorrow.

On August 30, Waverly High School’s athletic season kicks off, and Broad Street is closing between Clark Street and Pennsylvania Avenue beginning at 9 a.m. for the Game Day parade and festivities.

According to the Waverly Police Department, Broad Street will remain closed between Clark and Loder Streets until 9 p.m. for VFW Bike Night, which starts at 3 o’clock.

Authorities say to plan ahead for parking.

The Waverly High School football team, which won the State Championship in 2023, opens its season tomorrow with a non-league game against Troy High School out of Pennsylvania.
