JOHNSON CITY, NY (607NewsNow) – A Broome County man is facing charges.

On June 4th, authorities from multiple agencies executed several search warrants, including at a “warehouse-style” building in Johnson City, where they allegedly found a large quantity of drugs and illegal weapons.

According to the Johnson City Police Department, 118 evidentiary items were seized, including 21 pounds of meth, $24,125 in cash, ammunition, gun parts, silencers, and 8 ghost guns – including 5 assault-style rifles. In addition to the drugs and guns/gun parts seized, a vehicle, computers, jewelry, gems, and gold and silver bars were recovered from the scene.

On June 11, Robert Randisi, 69, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.

“Just to put this seizure into perspective, 21 pounds of methamphetamine represents more than half a million dosage units,” said Johnson City PD Chief Brent Dodge. “That’s enough to get every man, woman, and child in Broome County high three times over. I can’t overstate the value of getting these dangerous drugs – and these dangerous weapons – off our streets.”

The investigation was conducted by a task force composed of members of the Johnson City PD, Binghamton PD, and Broome County Sheriff’s Office. Assistance was provided by the FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Broome County District Attorney’s Office.

“This is absolutely disturbing for a small community – a village – to have this level of activity going on here, and so brazenly,” said First Assistant U.S. Attorney John Sarcone III. ” That’s why we’re grateful to be partnering up and bringing our federal power here.”

Officials say Randisi has two previous felony convictions for similar crimes, and additional state and federal charges are pending.
