TRUMANSBURG, NY (607NewsNow) — The Kids to Camp Golf Tournament sponsored by Flashing Feathers Bowhunters returns for a 21st year, continuing to support local youth.

On Saturday, June 20th, an 18-hole golf tournament at the Trumansburg Golf Course will begin with a 9:00 a.m. tee-off time. Cash prizes for the first, second, and third place winners, a prize table, food, and more will be included at the event.

“In the last 20 years putting on the tournament, we’ve helped send over 100 kids to different outdoor education camps in the area,” says Flashing Feathers Bowhunters member and Kids to Camp Golf Tournament Organizer Rudy Laurenson.

Many participants return year after year, creating a tradition across generations for families in the area.

“We have several people who attended the outdoor education camps as kids, and now have their own families and bring their children to give them the chance to have the same experience they had. It gives kids time to unplug from technology and social media and spend time outdoors, learning skills they might not have if they didn’t attend camp.”

Golf course hole sponsorships are available for those interested in participating this year. Find more information on the tournament on the Flashing Feathers Bowhunters Facebook page here.
