ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – It’s almost time for Cornell Slope Day, and it will have traffic impacts on campus.

The annual end-of-the-school-year celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, on Libe Slope, but some adjustments have already begun.

The parking lot at Willard Straight Hall shut down at 10 p.m. on May 3 and will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on May 7.  The short-term parking area for Cornell Health remains available for patient use. Beginning at 6 a.m. on May 5, West Avenue and its parking spots will be closed to all traffic until 7:30 a.m. on May 7.

On Slope Day, Campus Road will be closed between College Avenue and Stewart Avenue from 10:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be restricted access to Anabel Taylor Hall and Myron Taylor Hall from the College Ave and Campus Road intersection. Access to Mary Ann Wood Drive and Forest Park Lane will be restricted from the Stewart Ave and Campus Road intersection.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. Any vehicles left in restricted parking areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Check the TCAT website for any possible route and schedule changes.
