2 Elmira women charged with welfare fraud

ELMIRA, NY (607NewsNow) — Two people are charged with welfare fraud in Elmira.

37-year-old Cassandra Hall is accused of receiving nearly $3,300 in SNAP benefits after filing false paperwork with the Chemung County Department of Social Services. Hall was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Meanwhile, 33-year-old Elizabeth Deboe allegedly received over $4,100 in fraudulent SNAP benefits following her arrest on Monday, Sept. 8. Both are charged with one count each of welfare fraud and grand larceny. Both are also charged with offering a false instrument for filing, with Deboe facing with two counts.
