State Police say an 18-year-old from western New York died from severe head trauma following a fatal crash in Tioga County this weekend.

Michael Dmochowski of Lockport was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday on Route 34/96 in Spencer.

Police say Dmochowski drifted into the oncoming lane and struck a pick-up truck. The driver of the truck suffered injuries to his foot and ankle.

Dmochowski had reportedly visited Ithaca College earlier in the day, and was considering scholarship options at a number of schools.

Police say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

The investigation into the crash continues.
