SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — About 40 vehicles were piled up on a snowy interstate road after an accident snarled traffic for five hours.


The Watertown Daily Times reports the pile-up happened Friday on Interstate 81 near the town of Ellibsurg.
Authorities say the crash involved about 40 vehicles, including five tractor-trailers. No major injuries were reported.
The massive pileup began at about 11:30 a.m. and the road didn’t reopen until nearly 5 p.m. State police believe the accident was weather-related.
