ENFIELD, N.Y. (WHCU) — Fire services in Enfield are under transition.

Councilperson Robert Lynch says the Town Board no longer oversees the volunteer fire company.

 “We have transitioned that to a Fire District, which is a board of fire commissioners in charge now,” he says.

Lynch adds the change was originally considered back in 2007.

Five fire commissioners will be elected in December.
