CORTLAND — A nurse aide who worked in a Cortland facility is facing charges for allegedly abusing a nursing home resident.

The Attorney General’s office says the incident happened at the Crown Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in December 2014.

Officials say 28-year-old Noelle Otto allegedly slapped a female resident all over her body, slammed her arms against a bedside table and covered her mouth. Otto then lied about the incident to the facility.

Otto has pleaded not guilty to the charges at the Cortland City Court and was released. She will be returning to court on March 2.
