CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland man awaits his next day in court from a Cortland County Jail cell.

Two weeks ago, Adam Tortorice was involved in a three-and-a-half-hour standoff with authorities after they responded to a report of someone making threats with a gun. During the investigation, it was learned Tortorice was wanted by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Parole. A hand-made gun was recovered from the scene. The Cortland Voice reports Tortorice showed up in court on Wednesday after refusing to attend two scheduled appearances, including his bail review session, which led the judge to remand him to county jail custody on $2,500 cash bail.

Tortorice’s new charges include felony burglary and misdemeanors of criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration. He still faces parole charges with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and NYS Police, as well as burglary, attempted grand larceny, and criminal mischief charges in Cortlandville.

Tortorice is scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on September 20.
