ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cinemapolis is looking for more help from city officials.

The Ithaca Urban Renewal Agency’s Economic Development Committee will hear today about a plan to continue monthly rent reductions for the independent movie house through June.

Despite making a small profit this year, Cinemapolis leaders say they’re risking a modest loss in 2024 without continued rent assistance from the IURA, which began earlier this year.

The IURA Economic Development Committee meeting today starts at 3:30.
