THIS WEEK: Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi & Corky Laing – Mountain perform “Mississippi Queen” live at the Randall’s Island N.Y. Pop Festival in 1970. From the movie “The Day The Music Died”.

  • FYI: Leslie West of Mountain would have celebrated his 79th birthday this week (10/22/45). He passed away in 2020 at the age of 75.
  • Mountain was one of the first bands to pioneer the genre later to become known as heavy metal.
