HAPPY BIRTHDAY – PETER FRAMPTON ‘COMES 65!!! – (04/22/2015)
Happy Birthday to Peter Frampton, who turns 65 today (April 22nd)!!! Frampton first made his mark in Britain in the late-1960’s with the pop group the Herd, and then later as part of the hard rocking Humble Pie with co-founder Steve Marriott. Frampton left Humble Pie in late 1971 to go solo, and released four moderate selling solo albums before releasing his 1976 blockbuster double album Frampton Comes Alive! The album propelled Frampton into superstardom with its hit singles “Show Me The Way,” “Baby, I Love Your Way,” and “Do You Feel Like We Do.”

Frampton, who’ll be on the road throughout the summer, recently released the critically acclaimed mini-album, Hummingbird In A Box. The set marked the first new Frampton music since the 2010 release of Thank You Mr. Churchill. The piece was originally commissioned by and performed with the Cincinnati Ballet in April 2013. Last month, Frampton posted on Facebook that he’s currently re-recording “an album’s worth” of his older music on just acoustic guitar and piano. Frampton posted a photo of the intricate mic setup in his Nashville studio with a “Geek Alert” advisory. No release date has been announced for the still-untitled set.
