We are encouraging people to wear their tie dye in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the greatest live Grateful dead show- 5-8-77

We will have spotters all over Ithaca giving out free Dead Head Day free CD’s …spreading the love of Music along with tickets to the party that night at the State theatre featuring the digital re mastered broadcast of the legendary concert.

To the purest dead head- it’s considered the greatest live Dead show ever. 5-8-77. Barton Hall…Cornell university… Ithaca…new York. 40 years later- what a long strange trip it’s been…

For one night only- Monday, May 8th, declared Dead Head Day by mayor Svante Myrick- you can join the shakedown on State Street as Rhino Entertainment and the State Theatre of Ithaca presents “5-8-77…Revisted – a celebration of the Grateful dead”!

This is one of the RAREST record release parties in the US! Doors open at 7 at and things GET NOODLING at 8 with “set one and two” from the Barton show- digitally remastered- on the grand State Theater sound system- and including a live acoustic set by Terrapin Station!

Also, meet author Peter Conners on his book release “Cornell ’77: The Music, the Myth, and the Magnificence of the Grateful Dead’s Concert at Barton Hall”, and see original Jon Reis photos taken from the ‘77 show!
