CHECK IT OUT: The Faces in April 1972 performing “Maybe I’m Amazed” live on BBC’s Sounds For Saturday.

FYI:

The surviving Faces — Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, and Kenney Jones – will reunite on September 5th to play a show benefiting Prostate Cancer UK. The concert, which is dubbed “Rock ‘n’ Horsepower” will once again be held in Surrey, England at Hurtwood Park Polo Club. At last year’s event, Kenney Jones performed with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend for the first time since his final Who gig on February 8th, 1988. Jones is the catalyst once again, having recently battled prostate cancer. Additional performers will soon be announced.

Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan died last December 3rd at age 69 from complications following a stroke, on the eve of kicking off a string of dates opening for Nick Lowe. Bassist Ronnie Lane died in 1997 at age 51 after suffering from multiple sclerosis for over two decades. In 2012, the Faces, along with its parent band the Small Faces, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. An ill Rod Stewart was a last minute no-show, claiming he couldn’t fly to the U.S. according to doctor’s orders.
