(ITHACA/CORTLAND NY) the 49th annual Gracie Awards has a winner in Upstate New York. Iconic Rock station I-100’s Kat Walters was selected as one of the Gracie Award winners for 2024. The Gracie Awards are named after the television and radio hall of famer Gracie Allen. The award recognizes exemplary programming created by women in the media and entertainment industry. Walters, a 21-year radio veteran, anchors The Working Stiff Show on I-100 weekdays from 11a-6p. In addition, she is the programmer of the station overseeing the music and imaging on the big rock station in Central NY.

“The Gracie is a prestigious media award that our radio industry holds in the highest regard.  There are so many deserving and notable names of winners over the past four decades at both the national and local level. All of us at the Cayuga Radio Group and Saga Broadcasting are very proud of Kat. Her work on I-100 (WIII-FM), within the rock format, and her depth of relationship with her audience is a testament to her commitment to local radio.  Simply put…she rocks.” Said Chet Osadchey, President / General Manager of Cayuga Radio Group.

“We couldn’t be more excited to see the name Kat Walters alongside such a list of distinguished and influential women broadcasters. Coincidentally, we couldn’t be less surprised to see her name there either.” Said Chris Allinger Cayuga Radio Group’s Operations Manager.

Previous winners nationally of Gracie Awards include Michelle Obama, Martha Stewart, Betty White, Taylor Swift, and many others.

Walters on her achievement: “It is such an honor to be recognized by the Alliance for Women in Media with a Gracie Award. My career in broadcasting has been (and continues to be) a journey of growth and discovery, and this award is a true testament of hard work, dedication, and love of my craft. Congratulations to all of the 2024 Gracie Award winners!”
