Apple for the Teacher 2019 Rules


Starting September 23, 2019 at 5AM until November 13, 2019 at 5PM listeners are invited to nominate a local educator they know in the community. Listeners can go to i100rocks.com, 1037qcountry.com, literock973.com, whcuradio.com, 963thebuzzer.com, 967thevine.com, rewind1077.com, pureoldies941.com, alt959.com and z955.com and enter their email address and follow the onscreen prompts to enter their Apple for the Teacher nominee.

Apple for the Teacher Recipients will be selected by a team of judges at Cayuga Radio Group out of the available nomination letters.

All nominated teachers will have a plaque and peck of apples delivered to their school. All 12 teachers will be put into the running for a grand prize of a Laptop (Approximate Retail Value: $599) along with a desktop plus monitor ($1200) and preflight labor (estimated $500. Includes setup of OS, Updates and Software) donated to their school. The drawing for the grand prize will take place the morning of Friday, November 15, 2019.

Our winners will be contacted by phone/email and have their name/city along with their nomination letter posted online. If the winner is unreachable after 30 days starting the day of the drawing the prize will be given to the next eligible entrant. Listeners must be 18 years or older to win.

We will make reasonable efforts to award the prize within 30 days after the drawing.

One entry per person. Submitting more than one entry per person will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified. in the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address sued to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.

WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WYXL-HD3/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ-HD2/WNYY/WFIZ/WQNY-HD3 contests are open to all eligible New York and Pennsylvania residents 18 or older have not won anything on WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WYXL-HD3/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ-HD2/WNYY/WFIZ/WQNY-HD3 in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WYXL-HD3/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ-HD2/WNYY/WFIZ/WQNY-HD3, Cayuga Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WYXL-HD3/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ-HD2/WNYY/WFIZ/WQNY-HD3 main studio are not eligible to win any contest. 

No purchase necessary. Prize is not redeemable or transferable for cash. WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WYXL-HD3/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ-HD2/WNYY/WFIZ/WQNY-HD3 sole responsibility will be to award the prize. WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WYXL-HD3/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ-HD2/WNYY/WFIZ/WQNY-HD3 shall have no further responsibility if the prize winner for any reason cannot or decides not to use any of the prize. Winner responsible for all applicable federal and state taxes. Fees and incidentals are not included with the prize and are the sole responsibility of the winner.

This contest is being run concurrently and simultaneously in Ithaca New York between radio stations associated with the Cayuga Radio Group and listeners of said stations will be competing against each other for the same prize. These rules supersede the rules found on the SecondStreet platform.
