THIS WEEK:  Guns N’ Roses – “Don’t Cry”, Live in Tokyo in 1992

FYI:
AXL, SLASH AND DUFF CONFIRMED FOR GUNS N’ ROSES COACHELLA SHOWS
Guns N’ Roses has issued a press release confirming that guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan will rejoin singer Axl Rose for the band’s upcoming performances at this year’s Coachella Music And Arts Festival. There is still no word on whether original guitarist Izzy Stradlin, drummer Steven Adler will appear, along with any other past or current members of the group.

The press release said in part, “Upholding a three-decade tradition of breaking ground, creating trends, and forever changing the face of rock ‘n’ roll, Guns N’ Roses announce the most significant and anxiously awaited musical event of this century. Founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music And Arts Festival . . . The April performances will mark the first time since 1993 the Gunners will share the stage for what is certain to be an explosive event.”
•The 2016 Coachella Festival will take place on the weekends of April 15th through April 17th and April 22nd through April 24th at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Guns will play on April 16th and April 23rd.
•There are rumors that the band will head out on a 25-date North American stadium tour this summer, but so far there is no official confirmation of that.
•Tickets for Coachella go on sale Wednesday (January 6th) at 11:00 a.m. via Coachella.com.

During his Monday night (January 4th) telecast, late night host Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose for canceling a planned appearance on Tuesday night’s (January 5th) edition of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Rose was listed as the show’s first guest for the broadcast as of early Monday, but his name was removed from the site by mid-afternoon due to what the Los Angeles Times said was “unforeseen circumstances.”

During Monday night’s broadcast, Kimmel told his viewers, “Axl Rose was supposed to be here tomorrow, but he will not be here tomorrow, for reasons known only to Axl Rose. Or maybe he will be here and he’s just trying to keep us guessing. I don’t know.”
