JOHN FOGERTY PUBLISHES MEMOIR, SEES NO CHANCER FOR CCR REUNION Out today (October 6th) is John Fogerty’s autobiography, Fortunate Son – My Life, My Music. As expected, the subject of his former Creedence Clearwater Revival band mates — late older brother Tom Fogerty, and John’s high school best friends Doug Clifford and Stu Cook — weighs heavily in the story, along with their very public allegiance to Fantasy Records owner, and John’s eventual nemesis, Saul Zaentz. John Fogerty spoke to Rolling Stone and explained his case against his band mates and its label: “What you have to understand is that even though I’m the guy in that band who wrote, produced and arranged all the songs — and therefore really brought them success — and Saul Zaentz was the guy who robbed us and owned all of our music and treated us pretty badly, somehow they flipped that on its head over the years, and now I’m the bad guy. Over the years, Tom, Doug, and Stu would quote Saul as if he was giving them good information and I was the crook, as if I ruined their lives somehow.”

JOHN FOGERTY ANNOUNCES LAS VEGAS RESIDENCY John Fogerty will bring his “1969″ show to Las Vegas early next year, with an eight-show run slated for January. Fogerty, who’ll publish his long-waited autobiography, Fortunate Son – My Life, My Music, tomorrow (October 6th), hits The Venetian on January 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, and 23rd. Fogerty’s Vegas run — like his recent road dates — spotlights key songs from all three of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s 1969 albums every night — featuring timeless tracks from Green River, Bayou Country, and Willy And The Poor Boys. Few bands had as productive a year as Creedence did in 1969 — releasing all three albums in an 11-month period. Fogerty said in announcement for the Vegas shows: “Peace, love and Vegas! I’m excited to be coming to The Venetian and bringing my ‘1969’ show for you all. We are going to be rockin’ my Creedence Clearwater Revival songs along with many more. We’ll have some new things added to the show, too. Hope you all can come and help us rock it up in Vegas come January!”
