NASHVILLE (AP) — Kellie Pickler was once asked which of her songs she’d choose for someone to hear who knew nothing about her.

Pickler says her response was that she had not written it yet.

When her husband, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, came home, she told him about that. He picked up his guitar and together they wrote the title track to her new album, “The Woman I Am.”

Pickler says she gets asked all the time if she fights with Jacobs when they write songs, but she says they hardly ever fight about anything.

Besides, she says when she was trying to write a song that defines who she is, he’d know if she was lying.

“The Woman I Am” album is out this week.
