Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a Thursday morning accident in Ithaca involving an Ithaca City School District bus.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. near Route 13 and Dey Street. Police say the bus driver, who has not been identified, was following too closely and failed to stop the bus in time before crashing into another car.

23 students were on the bus, but none were injured. The driver of the bus was also uninjured.

The bus was headed to Boynton Middle School. Another bus picked up the students following the accident, and took them the rest of the way.

The crash blocked traffic on Route 13 between Dey and Third streets for about an hour Thursday morning, but traffic was moving once again by about 9:30 a.m.
