Officials in the Town of Ithaca are taking steps to change the zoning on the Townâ€™s half of the Emerson Power Transmission site to help Unchained Properties move forward with its $100 million redevelopment project.
Developers look to construct a project with manufacturing, residential and commercial space.
Town Supervisor Herb Engman says a switch from an industrial to a planned development zone is needed.
Engman says the Town supports the project because it is aligned with their goals to bring more mixed-use development to the area along with more housing.
Unchained recently finalized the purchase of the site on Ithacaâ€™s South Hill.
