Officials in the Town of Ithaca are taking steps to change the zoning on the Town’s half of the Emerson Power Transmission site to help Unchained Properties move forward with its $100 million redevelopment project.
Developers look to construct a project with manufacturing, residential and commercial space.
Town Supervisor Herb Engman says a switch from an industrial to a planned development zone is needed.
Engman says the Town supports the project because it is aligned with their goals to bring more mixed-use development to the area along with more housing.
Unchained recently finalized the purchase of the site on Ithaca’s South Hill.
