The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce has appointed a new President.

Former Chenango County Director of Economic Development Jennifer Tavares will replace Jean McPheeters, who announced in December she would be stepping down after 14 years as Chamber president.

Tavares will begin her new duties on July 14th.

Chair of the Board of the Chamber Michael May says Tavares brings extensive experience and a well rounded background in Chamber work, economic development, and community enhancement to the position.
