Governor Cuomo has released the results of the State Police’s Operation Hang Up and Speed Week campaigns.

The crackdowns were intended to curb reckless driving that puts the lives of others at risk on the roadways.

Sergeant Edward Abruzzo with Troop C covering Tompkins, Tioga and Cortland Counties says 312 speeding tickets were issued locally in the one week span.

Over 3,400 distracted driving tickets were issued statewide over a 5 day period in early April.

Abruzzo says time will tell to see if these crackdowns work.
