Residents of the Newfield School District have approved an extra $500,000 in spending for a capital project.

The district was seeking the money to help install a heating and cooling system in the district’s high school auditorium.

By a 94-70 vote Tuesday, residents said yes to the extra spending.

District residents signed off on the capital project last year, but district officials said the price tag for the project came in above the initial estimated costs.
