A New Jersey man was arrested Wednesday after leading State Police on a high-speed chase on I-81 near Cortlandville.

Troopers say 24 year old Jesus Izquierdo was stopped on I-81 near Cortlandville and when the officer approached his car, he fled the scene.

Izquierdo led police on a 14 minute pursuit, reaching speeds as high as just over 100 miles per hour as he weaved in and out of lanes to avoid other cars.

Izquierdo eventually pulled over near Tully. He’s charged with unlawful fleeing from a police officer, drug possession and a number of other offenses.

He was arraigned in Town of Cortlandville Court and is in Cortland County Jail on $5,000 dollars cash bail.
