Hanshaw Rd reconstruction near completion

The Hanshaw Road reconstruction project between Sapsucker Woods and Pleasant Grove Roads in the Town of Ithaca isn’t as delayed as previously thought.

TCAT’s announcement last week of rerouting buses due to project delays caused some confusion according to Tompkins County Highway Manager Jeff Smith.

Smith says two lane traffic is set to be back September 19th, with a majority of the work on schedule to be completed by the end of October.

He says some plantings and landscaping may need to be done next Spring.

Detours remain in place for drivers, as traffic is only permitted heading out of Ithaca.
