Three Ithaca men arrested in drug deal gone bad

Three men have been arrested after Ithaca Police responded to a reported robbery in the city Thursday night.

Officers with the Ithaca Police Department arrived at the home of a Spencer street resident at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday night. The man told officers that he agreed to sell marijuana to the three men when they forced entry into his home and stole items from inside.

The men were later located by New York State Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department near Cayuga Medical Center.

28-year-old Eric Benjamin, 24-year-old Cruz Colon and 19-year-old John Oliver were each arrested and charged with robbery and burglary.

All three were arraigned in Ithaca City Court and taken to Tompkins County Jail on $10,000 bail.
