County lawmakers review proposals for old library site

Tompkins County lawmakers have begun their review of a half dozen proposals from developers who want to build on the Old Library site.

The old library building on Cayuga Street in Ithaca will likely be turned into some sort of housing complex.

At a public hearing held this week, about a half dozen members of the public spoke out in support of a proposal from the Rochester-based DPI Consultants that would incorporate residential condominiums as part of the project.

The review process is expected to continue for the next several months.
