Celebrating our area educators, teachers in Tompkins and Cortland Counties are presented with an apple compliments of Cornell University Apple Orchards and Cayuga Radio Group.
· I-100 listeners are asked to write us in 100 words or fewer and describe why a certain teacher deserves to be nominated for The Apple for the Teacher Award.
· The nominator may be a student, an entire class, a school administrator, a parent, a friend etc.
· A panel of judges from our stations will choose a weekly recipient's letter. Giving credit to the teacher and the nominator, the letters will be read on the radio during October and November.
· There will be an awards banquet to pay tribute to each of the Apple for the Teacher recipients.
· The teachers (approximately 12) will receive a special Apple for the Teacher award, and a grand prize will be drawn from the recipients. A computer and printer will be awarded to that teacher’s school and a laptop for the teacher.
